Betty Bullock Gibbs

Betty Bullock Gibbs, of Sapulpa, passed away November 6, 2023.  Betty was born November 4, 1946, in Tulsa, to C.R. “Raymond” Bullock and Pauline (Troxell) Bullock. She grew up in West Tulsa and graduated from Webster High School. She married Charles “Charlie” Gibbs in 1971. As a nontraditional student, she completed her associates and bachelors degrees as a mom of four, and her first grandchild attended her graduation from NSU in Tahlequah at the age of 1 month old. She traveled a lot in the US, Europe and Asia, and she taught briefly in Chengdu China in the Confucius Program through OU. Betty retired from Sapulpa Public Schools where she taught art and history and was the sponsor for the China Club. She was also a designer, an artist, a church volunteer, a civic organization volunteer avid bargain shopper.

Betty is survived by son, C. Mikeul Gibbs, of the home; son, C. Joseph Gibbs of Sapulpa; daughter, Amanda Reed and husband Micah of Tulsa; daughter, Angenene Gibbs of Sapulpa and companion Mark Keefover; grandchildren: Micalah Reed of Tulsa, Amelia Kendrick of Sapulpa, Rebecca Kendrick of Stillwater, and Ryan Kendrick and wife CJ of Tulsa; sister-in-law Shirley Bullock of Sapulpa; and a host of extended family.

She is preceded in death by Charlie, her parents, her sister Ruth Pauline Bullock, her brother Raymond H. Bullock.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Traditions Funeral Chapel. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023, at South Heights Cemetery, Sapulpa, with meal to follow.
