Sapulpa high school band sophomore Luis Nunez has been accepted into the Orchestra in flute for the 2022 Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain State Park.

The Sapulpa Historical Society and Museum will display “Tour de Quartz” exhibit during the month of April in conjunction with the Oklahoma Arts Institute.
“I feel blessed to have my own place,” she said. “Without this program it would be pretty difficult.”
This Sapulpa Native became the first black student to enroll at OSU, and in 1952 she earned her Masters of Science degree.
